December Injection

Today I went to go get mine injection. Got there at 2p appointment was at 2:30. I was worry about getting there on time since the roads were bad with a ice storm we had. But parts of them were OK and bridges were not so good. But I got there on time. They call me back about 2:15 did my labs that went OK nurse did OK. Went back out to lobby to set and wait for them to call me back to get injection. About 2:30 they call me back and she started my IV. They always have to do IV down in my lower arm around my wrist and that does not feel so good. It hurt a little but she got it done. Then she went and put in order for my Zometa. Took about 20 mins not so bad and then ran a little more fluids thru the IV.

Labs got the results and Iron was low again. And there were several other labs that were low. But my WBC (white blood count) were good. So I got my results for tumor markers from Nov. Remember in Oct they were 59.9 Well Nov are 79 so they have gone up a lot. They started just going up like 5 markers but it seems like they are going up more then just 5 marks. So I am keeping a eye on them. I wont get Dec tumor markers until I go back Jan 7.  When I go in Jan 7 I will also see Dr. Oommen. I also have a CT Scan on Jan 3 and I will get those results when I go in on Jan 7. All in all it was a good visit.

The Lord is my healer!

I know am late!

I know am late I said I was going to let y'all know about Nov. 12 injection. Well here it goes went in at 2p sign in and waited for them to call me. They call me back to get labs done. It went good no problems with them sticking me. Then went back to lobby and sit down until they call me to get injection done. They call me back about 2:30 had to wait a little bit before they did the IV. They had to wait for lab results to come back. Once they came back then they started the IV with fluids only. The nurse turn in my order for Zometa. Zometa takes about 20 min to run.

As far as the labs they were really good. Even the Iron was normal this time. Remember me telling y'all about tumor markers and how they are climbing. I get the results of tumor markers a month behind. So even thou this is Nov. injection I want get Nov tumor markers until Dec. So in Oct my tumor markers were 59.9. I am curious to see what Nov. tumor markers are. But all the other labs were good. I go back Dec 10 for my next injection.

May the Lord shine thru your eyes when someone looks into them.

Well I told you I would explain how my cancer spread. Here is my though on it. From the being I had a PET Scan done in Aug 2010 that was the only one I had done. But I already knew that it had spread to a couple of lymph nodes under my arm. If y'all remember I started taken Tamoxifen in Oct 2010. Then had surgery in Jan 2011 never had another PET Scan. So from Aug 2010 to Jan 2011 it had time to spread without knowing about it. Had another PET Scan in Nov 2012 due to some headaches and problem with my neck. That's how we found out about it being in the bones. So it was I guess you can say over look. Not really! You don't have to have any scan done again as far as a regular check up. Your regular check ups consist of blood work and seeing your oncology starting out every 3 months. It was a honest mistake. Now I feel that another PET Scan should always be done before surgery. I take a injection once a month to protect the bones and see my oncology every 3 months. I do lab work once a month before I have my injection. I had a port right from the start but when I had my reconstruction I had the port taken out. Boy I sure wish I didn't have it taken out. Cause every time I go to have my injection they have to do a IV. I first get my lab done and they always stick me in the bend of my arm. Then when it comes to the IV they stick me around my wrist or in my hand. Not to crazy about it, it hurts so you see I sure regret having the port taken out. They could be using that port instead of doing IV. Well am going to pick up on blogging about my injection and my  other doctor appointments on Nov 12, 2013 instead of going back and posting all the others. So after tomorrow I will have more for ya.

Just remember time is on your side!

I am back have not been blogging for a while. Just been going to thru so stuff. But it is good to be back. To get yall caught up on whats been going on with the cancer stuff. After I had my reconstruction I also had my port taken out. Didn't really need it any more no big deal. July 2012 went to my oncologist for a routine check up had him look at my neck. He did a CT scan on it and low and behold it came back cancer. But the funny thing about it is that the knot I have in my neck was not the cancer. But the cancer is in my neck around c5 and c6. They could never find out what the knot in my neck is. Then he wanted to send me to have MRI done cause I was having headaches. Well guess what MRI show I have cancer in my bones. All thru my spine up and down the the T1-12 just scattred thru out the spine. Also in the right hip and tail bone. So now in Nov. 2012 I start a injection call Zometa by IV every month. I sure wish I would have kept that port. But no I had to have it taken out thought I had the breast cancer beat. So I go ever month have lab work done and get a injection. That first injection let me tell you it knock me to the floor. I was sick sore all over I thought I had been beaten up. The good thing about it, it only last for 24 lot hrs. Now the Zometa is to help keep the bones from breaking. The cancer can cause the bones to become fragile. And I also have to take extra calium. The Zometa can cause low calium levels. So here it is a year from last year and I still have it. No chemo cause the chemo didn't work the first time. So what it is call now Breast Cancer/Bone Metisesa or secondary cancer. So I am pretty much stuck with the cancer. Doctor said it is not going any where. I will always have it. It will either be stable or grow. Did a Pet Scan in Feb. 2013 that confirm it for sure. I do experience a lot of pain cancer in the bone is very painful. I still take my Tamoxfin every night if yall remember the Tamoxfin is to keep the cancer from reoccurance. So you problaly ask how did it come back. I will explain that in my blog.

Just remember God will always have your back! He has always been there for me. Until next time count your blessing.
